S.Sgt. Douglas Flack, 1923-Present


Douglas Flack served from September 18, 1942 to October 22, 1945. In 1947, Flack was recommissioned with the rank of Major, and retired with 20 years of service in 1964. A photogunner in the South Pacific, Flack served in Nadzab, Dutch New Guinea; Owin Island, Leyte; Clark Field in the Philippines and in le Shima, Japan.

Flack's extensive collection incorporates pages and photographs from his scrapbook depicting the daily life of a young soldier in the South Pacific. His official documents outline service during World War II.
