S.Sgt. Kehr opens by discussing those at home that have written to him and quickly transitions to the Army's policy change that required servicemen to be overseas for one years and complete 300 flight hours. S.Sgt. Kehr reports that had completed 39 missions and 226 flight hours.

S.Sgt. recounts the deaths of most of his crew on a transport mission to Australia. He feel sad as they had flown extensive combat missions together. Despite this, S.Sgt. Kehr approves of his new pilot.

S.Sgt. Kehr reports having been awarded the Air Medal and two Oak Leaf Clusters, one "for shooting down a Zero April 12 over Hollandia."
