Description

A six-page typed letter from S.Sgt. Wade Kehr to "Marg + Jim." The letter was written at the American camp at Owi Island, NEI.

S.Sgt. Kehr opens by discussing the "really swell" location of the camp at Owi Island. He mentions the belly tank sail boats that line the beach and the good food. He also speaks fondly of his parents and the way they raised him and his siblings.

S.Sgt. Kehr picks up the letter the next day, August 25, and states that the 403rd got two new crews, meaning that they should start sending older crews home (he expects "sometime in the next month.") He also finally got paid after two months, but this time in Dutch Guilders.

In concluding, S.Sgt. Kehr says that an friend who flew B-26s in Europe died in the D-Day invasion.
