Sgt. Flack writes that he was paid last night for two months of work, which amounted to 163 gulden. He is going to send the money home since he doubts he will be granted furlough to Australia.

Sgt. Flack states that he got his first issue of Western Horseman that "Ed Mason" had subscribed to on his behalf.

Sgt. Flack requests a pair of Indian mocassins and a pig-skin watch strap.
