Subject

Correspondence (personal)

Description

A four-page handwritten letter from Sgt. Douglas Flack to "Folks," most likely written in Owi Island, NEI.

Sgt. Flack writes that he received the cookies and his state ballot. He also notes that he sent them negatives which he had just gotten back from Australia. The rolls of films had been affected by the weather.

Sgt. Flack states that in a few of the pictures a small motorboat is visible, and describes it in detail. The vehicle was built by his communications chief out of the auxiliary gas taken of a fighter plane.

Sgt. Flack mentions that many pictures are of a medal ceremony which had occurred at his former location. He describes the close-up pictures of his fellow soldiers and friends, two pictures of nurses, and a picture of three "natives."
